NOD32

For a few years, I've been very adamant about protecting my computers with anti-virus (AV) software. My tool of choice was Norton Anti-virus from Symantec. Last year, a couple of friends mentioned how Norton messed up their system or slowed things down. I became a believer in the latter.

What changed is that I finally got tired of the slow log in times on my laptop. I don't use my laptop much. It's just over 2 years old and showing its age. But darned if I want to log in and be forced to wait 20 seconds until I can do anything.

After some light digging, I couldn't tell which AV product would have the lightest touch on my system. But NOD32 seemed like a good bet. I've been using it on 3 computers, including the laptop, since this last weekend and log in delays are reduced.
