We've used Netflix for a couple of years and have been happy with the service. Last year, we had a short spate of DVDs that were "damaged". Part way through the movie, it'd stop and you wouldn't be able to continue. Sometimes you could advance to the next scene but it ruined the movie watching experience. But that hasn't happened for a while.
Anyway, here's a story on CNN about Netflix throttling its "heavy" renters. For example, if you watch and return only 3 movies a month then you are more likely to get a newly-released movie before someone who watches and returns 18 movies a month.
My first feeling on this is that it just doesn't feel right. They have a profit motive for doing so and I can understand that. But I don't like it. Maybe that's because we joined early when this issue wasn't apparent. And in case you're wondering..."No, we don't watch and return 18 movies a month" <g>
