UPDATE: If you've come here looking for information about integrating PayPal into Community Server or about paid subscriptions for Community Server, I and several other Community Server technical evangelists have put together a product named Four Roads Commerce. You can find information about it at the Four Roads website

Here and there, I like to stop, see where I've been, and figure out where I'm going.

For this project, a Paid Subscriber Add-On for Community Server, we have some interfaces describing a gateway to a payment processor, the community-specific settings for the processor, and a custom data provider that lets us persist the settings.

The coding and testing has actually been a couple days ahead of the blog posts. That gives me a little more time to catch myself before I go down the wrong path.

In real time, the loading, saving, and deleting of the payment settings has been written and tested. Right now, I don't plan to bore you with those details. If you do want to know more about it, please leave a comment.

This week, we'll move into the administrative UI side a little and into some of the business logic. There seems to be a little more foundational work to be done before we get into the actual payment flow.

Next up, language resources.
